After all that talk about whether Jazz Chisholm Jr. should be stealing bases, the Bahamian star returned to the field Tuesday night and found another way to make noise.
Spencer Jones opened the scoring against the Los Angeles Angels with a two-run homer in the first inning. Jazz stepped up next and sent a solo shot over the left-field wall, giving the Yankees back-to-back home runs and an immediate 3–0 lead.
Jazz wasn’t finished.
He added two singles, crossed the plate again on Paul Goldschmidt’s eighth-inning sacrifice fly and completed the night 3-for-5 with two runs, one RBI and his 19th home run of the season.
The Yankees won 7–3, rebounding from their ugly 10–1 loss to the Angels one night earlier. CBS Sports’ completed box score confirms Jazz’s final numbers and New York’s victory.
And just to keep the record completely straight: Jazz did not steal a base Tuesday. He remains at 40 stolen bases, tied with the career high he set in 2024. The previously reported 41st-steal claim was incorrect and should not appear in the published story.
So, no new stolen-base record just yet—but three hits, two runs, a home run and a Yankees victory still make for a pretty good response to a week filled with controversy.
