Spice and Popcaan brought Caribbean star power to the launch, while Drake previewed collaborations, new visuals and his next global move.
Drake’s FOMO has officially moved from mysterious Instagram announcement to a full-blown rollout—and there is plenty to unpack.
The self-funded, long-form visual project premiered on September 15 before making its way online. Directed with several longtime collaborators, including Theo Skudra, the film follows Drake through a surreal summer of Toronto landmarks, celebrity cameos, speedboats, workouts, parties and flashes of new music. pitchfork.com
But the launch wasn’t only about what appeared on-screen. The guest list brought serious Caribbean energy.
Spice and Popcaan Bring the Caribbean Energy
Jamaican stars Spice and Popcaan were among the familiar faces photographed at the FOMO celebration. Spice also shared a warm moment with Drake on her Instagram Story, showing the pair embracing inside the event.
Their attendance immediately caught Caribbean fans’ attention. Drake has a long, sometimes complicated relationship with dancehall, but his friendships and collaborations within the region remain part of his cultural identity. Popcaan, in particular, has been connected to Drake and OVO for years.
To be clear, their presence at the launch does not automatically mean either artist appears on a new FOMO song. Still, when Spice and Popcaan are both in the room, people are naturally going to wonder whether more Caribbean collaborations are somewhere in the vault.
The Bahamian Moment Everybody Is Talking About
One of the film’s most unexpected—and entertaining—segments finds Drake stepping into cocktail-demo territory with Bahamian LaVardo Bethel.
The drink is introduced as the “Panty Dropper,” with blueberries, raspberries, pineapple juice, cranberry juice, orange juice, vodka and coconut rum. A third spirit appears to be peach liqueur, although it is not clearly identified. The finished cocktail receives an orange slice, fruit skewer and straw. complex.com
The FOMO “Panty Dropper”
No official measurements were provided, so home bartenders will have to adjust it to taste:
- Blueberries
- Raspberries
- Pineapple juice
- Cranberry juice
- Orange juice
- Vodka
- Coconut rum
- Peach liqueur, apparently
- Orange slice and fruit skewer for garnish
It is colorful, tropical and just chaotic enough for a Drake film. More importantly for us, it gives The Bahamas a memorable place in one of the project’s most shareable scenes.
Please drink responsibly—and do not let that innocent-looking fruit skewer fool you.
Which New Drake Songs Are Actually Out?
The film previewed a pile of music and visuals, but not everything heard in FOMO has received a separate streaming release.
The clearest arrival is Drake and Yeat’s “Miss My Dawg,” which subsequently appeared on Yeat’s Cocoon EP. complex.com
Drake also previewed “Cold Shoulder” with Don Toliver and a slowed reworking of Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas,” also featuring Don Toliver. As of this update, listeners should treat those as previews unless Drake announces independent release dates.
The project also delivered or listed visuals connected to tracks including:
- “Cheetah Print”
- “Outside Tweaking”
- “True Bestie”
- “New Bestie”
- “H*e Phase”
- “WNBA”
- “Road Trips”
- “I’m Spent”
- “Rusty Intro”
- “Classic”
- “Princess”
Sexyy Red, Winnie Harlow and Drake’s mother, Sandi Graham, are among the recognizable faces associated with the film’s different chapters. Other reported appearances include Kevin Durant and Stunna Sandy.
Is Drake Going on Tour?
Yes—at least according to Drake himself.
During the FOMO rollout, he indicated that a tour is coming and that he expects to be back on the road around the world in 2027. However, there are currently no confirmed cities, venues, ticket links or Caribbean dates. pitchfork.com
So, tour talk is real. Any supposed itinerary circulating without an official announcement is not.
The bigger question is whether the tour will support one album, the unreleased Iceman project, the music introduced through FOMO—or all of the above.
And What About That Record-Label Theory?
Drake repeatedly describing FOMO as “self-funded” has added fuel to speculation that he wants more control over his releases or may be preparing for a different relationship with his label.
It is an interesting theory, particularly after his very public legal and business tensions with Universal Music Group. But FOMO does not confirm that Drake has left—or is about to leave—his current recording arrangement.
What it does show is an artist determined to control the camera, the rollout and the conversation. Whether this is simply an ambitious visual experiment or the beginning of a more independent Drake era remains the juiciest unanswered question.
FOMO feels less like a traditional album rollout and more like Drake opening the vault, turning on the cameras and letting fans sort through the clues.
The songs are arriving in pieces. The tour is promised but undated. Spice and Popcaan added Caribbean heat to the guest list, and LaVardo Bethel gave The Bahamas one of the film’s most fun—and strongest—cocktail moments.
Drake may call it FOMO, but at this point, he is making sure nobody can look away.
